Christmas Wedding RYAN There’s a lot of things I don’t do right. I know that I had made lots and lots of mistake. I could never correct them even for a century time. I miss her so much. I guess my biggest mistake is that I never speak to her. Never. Not even once. When she asks me something, I would only say one word. I always did that. I wish I could meet her again so that I can tell her how much I’m sorry for what I did. I’m sorry. November 2006 Ryan walks in a supermarket. Suddenly he sees her. She looks so beautiful. He whispers to himself. RYAN … Vieann Raven He walks toward her and call her name RYAN Vieann… Vieann turns around. Seeing Ryan in front of her, she exclaims VIEANN Ryan! RYAN Hey! It’s been a while since we met each other VIEANN It’s been a long time RYAN Oh… Really? Vieann nods. They both laugh VIEANN So, what’s your dream last night? RYAN Huh? What? VIEANN Just suddenly speak to me after three years in high school, no words Ryan starts scratching his head though it’s not itchy and comes out with a shy smile VIEANN Hey! I’m just kidding okay? Ryan nods VIEANN Okay I guess. Mmm anyway, I had to go now. Bye! See ya! Nice talking to you Vieann is about to go when Ryan stops her RYAN Wait, Vie VIEANN Um? RYAN Aaa… nothing So, Vieann turns around and starts walking away but then Ryan says RYAN Actually Vieann stops but she doesn’t turn to look at him RYAN I’m totally regretting all the things I’ve done Vieann looks down RYAN I’m so sorry. Please forgive me Vieann nods a little then just walks away, leaving Ryan in disappointment RYAN Hey! That’s kinda cool, I met her. I didn’t regret that I spoke to her. Anyway, I should. I’m 21 now. I met her when we were both 15. She spokes to me twice but I just say one word then walked away. Well, I wasn’t really in love with her by then but when I do, she didn’t speak to me anymore. But still, I realize it’s my fault. When we were 18, we got separated. I met her once when she’s on that age. God! She’s beautiful. I had tried to speak to her but I’m too stupid and too shy. Then, I found out she went to Japan to further her studies. But now, she’s back here. I hope I could see her again FIRR When are you going? VIEANN Tomorrow FIRR How come so soon? VIEANN I can’t stay here much longer. I keep remembering Ryan whenever I’m here. I need some time alone. I still love him and I just can’t fight it. I never had any boyfriend after all these years just because I couldn’t get over him. It’s so unfair! FIRR Maybe he’s the one VIEANN Maybe not In the aeroplane… Vieann walks in the plane, looking for her seat, then she sits when she finds it. She sits at the aisle. Then, a guy approaches her RYAN Hey! Vieann is surprise to see him until nothing comes out of her mouth. Ryan sits at his place, which is next to her, at the window RYAN I never thought I’d met you VIEANN I thought you were following me RYAN Are you crazy? Why would I do that? VIEANN Who knows? You might RYAN Maybe I will if I had a chance to do so VIEANN Now why would you do that? RYAN Who knows? I might VIEANN Are you? RYAN No When they reach the destination… RYAN Where you stay? VIEANN None of your business RYAN What if it has something to do with me? VIEANN What is it then? RYAN Well, I wouldn’t ask about something that has nothing to do with me VIEANN What is it? RYAN I want to meet you VIEANN Forget about it! Vieann walks away. RYAN I’ll find you!!! He shouts Vieann takes a shower after that tiring journey. She walks out of the bathroom and sit on the bed. She looks outside through the door that leads to a balcony. She walks outside. It’s almost nightfall. She watches the birds fly back to their nest. She wishes she could live free just like those birds. She turns to look on her right VIEANN Aaarghh!! She screams. She’s damn surprise to see Ryan’s staring at her from the balcony of the hotel room next to hers. VIEANN You freak me out Ryan laughs and says RYAN I had just seen you come out. How come we’re always at the same place? VIEANN I don’t know. All I know, you really pull the guts out of me. Why the hell are you watching me like that? RYAN I love to watch you. You’re like a candy to my eyes VIEANN Very sweet. When did you learn this sweet talking? RYAN Whenever I’m with you Vieann smiles. She doesn’t know what comes out later that day. The next thing she knows, they become lovers Christmas day… Ryan’s Dad (Wesley) resident RYAN Where is she anyway? WESLEY She’ll be here any time now RYAN How I wish mom were here WESLEY She has gone. Maybe she’s having a greater Christmas in heaven RYAN You’re so strong. I can’t imagine losing someone I love Then, they hear the sound of a wheel WESLEY Wait! Look who’s here? Lucy walks in. She is Ryan’s kid sister LUCY Hey! RYAN God damn. I miss you Lucy hugs him and then hugs her father. And then, her husband, Eric comes in and hugs both Ryan and Wesley Vieann is walking with a Japanese guy, Takashi. He was her best friend when she studied in Japan. They are talking happily VIEANN Watashi no kareji wa koko ni iru [My boyfriend lives here] TAKASHI Uso? Ima wa kareji ga aru ka? [Really? Now, you have a boyfriend?] VIEANN Hontou! Doushita? Watashi wa kawaii nai ka? [Really. Why? I’m not beautifu?] TAKASHI Iya! Da kara, ano toki, nihon no naka. Anata wa daremo to ai shiteita [No! it’s just because that time in Japan, you loved no one] VIEANN Ano. Zutto osokunatte ne. [I’m always late] They both laugh. From far, Ryan sees them. Jealousy fills his vein That evening… Ryan’s place VIEANN Hi! Ryan doesn’t answer her VIEANN Are you okay? RYAN Yes. I’m okay (sounds angry) I’m so okay VIEANN Why are you speaking to me like that? RYAN Like what? VIEANN Like that RYAN I saw you this morning VIEANN Where? Why didn’t you come and say hello? RYAN Well, I don’t wanna disturb you while you’re dating VIEANN Dating? I have no date! RYAN Oh really? Well, I saw you VIEANN Oh! Takashi? (Vieann laughs) He was my best friend when I was in Japan. I met him here RYAN Really? VIEANN Yeah! RYAN I thought he was some kind of like your ex-boyfriend or something VIEANN Didn’t I tell you? I never have a boyfriend in my life RYAN Okay. I’m sorry honey VIEANN What’s up? RYAN It’s time to break up VIEANN That’s not funny RYAN I’m not joking VIEANN (About to cry) … but … why? RYAN You lied to me. You said you had no boyfriend before me but Takashi was once you boyfriend VIEANN No, he’s not! RYAN Yes he is VIEANN Who say? RYAN Tasha VIEANN She knows nothing about me and I can’t believe you trust someone else more than me RYAN Well, you need witness VIEANN (Holding her tears) You never believe in me. I’m just going to waste my time trying to explain. If that’s your decision. Fine. But I had never lied to you RYAN (With tears almost falling down) You do! VIEANN You are so ego and stubborn. I’ll go but remember, this is not the end. You’ll pay for this!! One day, you’ll know who I am. I love you and I’ll always do. Goodbye! Ryan puts his hand on his head and starts to cry as Vieann walks away November 2007 (Phone conversation) RYAN How are you? WESLEY Fine. I got news for you RYAN What is it? WESLEY I’m getting married RYAN Whoa! Wait a minute. Are you kidding me? WESLEY No. I’m serious. I’m already engaged RYAN You what? WESLEY I was engaged to her RYAN Well, congratulation anyway. When will you get marry? WESLEY December 24th RYAN Whoa! You’re getting married on snowy day? WESLEY What’s wrong with it? RYAN And a day before Christmas? Why? WESLEY It’s her birthday RYAN Wow! It happens to be my ex-girlfriend’s birthday too WESLEY Really? RYAN Mm… how does she look like? Must’ve been beautiful, right? WESLEY Sure does. So beautiful Ryan laughs a little WESLEY Be there, okay? RYAN Sure will WESLEY See ya RYAN Bye! Ryan hangs up RYAN (Talking to himself) My dad is getting married? He then shakes his head December 24th 2007 It is already the end of the wedding but Ryan is still nowhere to be seen. The phone rings LUCY Hello RYAN Hello LUCY Where the hell are you? RYAN Tell dad I’m sorry. I’m now stuck somewhere near our place. I mean, the flight can’t continue due to a storm or something. Is this some kind of Home Alone? LUCY So, how will you get here? RYAN I’ll be riding my friend’s car. Well, I’ll be there okay LUCY Yeah. But you missed the wedding RYAN Well, I was never there when he marries mom too LUCY Yeah right. That’s funny RYAN Look, I’ll be there by nighttime, I guess LUCY Be here! Knock-knock on the door. Wesley opens the door WESLEY You’re late! RYAN Yeah I know Ryan hugs him. Eric walks towards them RYAN Hey man! Ryan hugs Eric. Then, he hugs Lucy RYAN (Turn to look at Wesley) Where’s mom? (Teasingly) Wesley, Eric and Lucy laughs WESLEY I’ll call her Ryan turn around to pick up her bag while Wesley goes to the kitchen. When he turns back around, the bag he’s holding falls off his hand RYAN Whoa!! He exclaims. Vieann is the woman who marries his father. Vieann smiles at him VIEANN Hi Ryan! WESLEY You know each other? VIEANN (Turn to look at Wesley) Sorry I didn’t tell you. Ryan was my classmate. I thought you’d be so shocked if I’d tell you before WESLEY Of course I would RYAN But it’s more shocking this way right? All of them laugh ERIC Come on! Let’s have dinner Ryan nods while keep looking at Vieann who’s smiling with his dad, walking to the kitchen. Suddenly, he remember a flash of thoughts VIEANN I’ll go but remember, this is not the end. You’ll pay for this!! After dinner… RYAN Hey! VIEANN Hey! RYAN … So, how d’you… and my dad? … you know VIEANN Oh! It’s a long story RYAN Why didn’t you tell me that you and my dad are in love? VIEANN Ryan, I didn’t know that Wes is your dad. I only know it after we were engaged. So, it’s kinda too late to even tell you RYAN Oh! (Still looking suspicious) VIEANN I love him so much. He’s such an amazing guy. Like no one I ever known before. I love him! RYAN But how about your words? VIEANN Words? What words? RYAN ‘This is not the end’ or ‘you’ll pay’ Vieann laughs VIEANN They were just words! I’m not that crazy. I mean, I’m a little hurt but I’m fine now Ryan nods RYAN So, they were only words? VIEANN Yes they were Christmas day 2007 They had just finished their day of laughter. Lucy and Eric are going back to their place that evening ERIC Bye guys! WESLEY Take care! Ryan also going back to his house the same evening. And so, Vieann and Wesley left together. July 2008 RYAN I still can’t believe that she was married to my dad. Just damn it! Only God knows how jealous I am. I really love her so much. Even more with the fact that I know she never lied to me. Tasha really knows nothing about her and I even hear it from Takashi own mouth that he never had any relationship with Vieann other than friends. I want her back in my life. If I could, I would do anything! 3.00 a.m – Wesley’s resident VIEANN (Shouts) AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! The next morning, Vieann is crying while she sits on a chair in the kitchen. Firr is there to console her VIEANN I don’t know how does this happen FIRR I understand VIEANN I was sleeping. When I woke up …… The polices are also there, listening to her story VIEANN I found him nowhere. So I starts searching … but I found nothing. He just lost. Banished. And then, I saw a blood stains on the carpet … there must’ve been something terrible - She continues crying. Firr keeps trying to calm her down. Then, Eric and Lucy arrive. [To be continued...]
