I dreamed of you last night.

You lay next to me under black and diamond, brushed with golden feather of field. Round and silver (Forever too soon) she rose, as I knew she would, as all queens emerge at dead night when no other light may steal Radiance. She became silken white in your eyes, which were half closed and drowsy until your impossible Obsession suddenly came into eager reach.
You leapt into the shivering air, the golden feathers becoming your own, sprouting from your shoulders; your bright born wings wishing to fly as you wished to fly to her. Perched on anticipation, hanging in the air, barely wavering with each wind that dared move you from your insanity.
Suddenly, Lune nodded her approval. I watched from my field (now coarse and barren) as you ripped yourself from my gaze and dove up toward her (leaving me with Rains of golden feathers). Through my own dripping eyelashes I beheld you flitting between her lights, dancing on breeze and craving just a half-glance from Her.
The shadow of that desired attention never had courtesy to throw its accidental euphoria upon your lips: when parted in wonder; clenched in despair; and widened in terror as the stars sliced and burned your palms (only as you attempted embrace).
You, Seraphim of godless sky (of Goddess sky), your wings folded, faded, crumbled; dissolving into starlight. Your form (I could barely see you from my darkened field) crashed down toward wretched earth-without scream or shriek or plea for Love (or life). And as you neared your familiar field, somehow Gust swept you upward once more, and laid you gently upon your miserable earth.
I ran to you, of course I did. You were gone, your eyes were closed, eyelashes still smoldering from the Burn of rejection, with Blood-feather scattered about. Your life flooding into your palms, finally cooling them.
I awoke then. I found those same stars again. But all wings dissolve to whence they came, Seraphim, and golden fields are fleeting.
