A Poem For You
Ramkumar Menon
An unknown face descended down from the clouds,
bringing with it .. showers of joy.
As the colours of the rainbow filled my mind,
My thoughts wandered like a vagabond,
My eyes are travelling
as I am searching for the stranger
who has trespassed into my heart.
As the sunshine shines bright behind me,
You walk ahead of me like a shadow,
guiding me through my way,
leading me to the sweetest destination called friendship.
As I sit eclipsed by gloom,
you come like the stars ,shining all around me,
twinkling with cheerfulness , all lighted up,
making me smile again� yet again.
When I am happy, you too bloom like a flower,
Spreading the happiness in the air with the fragrance you have in you,
You share the happiness with the bees that hover around you.
Spreading the sweet taste of friendship.
When I am angry, you cool me down with the showers of words
Together with thunders and lightening ,
of words of wisdom that makes me think twice
before I get angry ever again.
When I feel lonely, you blanket me into the warmth of company,
and drive away the thoughts that infect my solitary mind.
You fill my mind with so much happiness that loneliness itself is left out.
When I celebrate, you join me in my spirits ,
climbing with me into the heights of pleasure �
sharing the occasion with joy n� delight.
That every moment I spend with you becomes a celebration for me�.
You are the one who makes me me,
You are the one element that is missing in me�.
Without you� everything is so incomplete�
And so I tell you girl� you are my friend..
