Walking Alone
Sara Roggy

I begin to walk down the path
The path you started with me
Where there was happiness
And sun in the trees
Light in our eyes
And our soft voices on the breeze.

Now as I walk alone
I reminisce
About how different things are now
About how much you made me grow
And how you taught me to learn and know

I remember all the times
We shared on the phone
Laughing and joking all night long
Wed stay up late
Watching hockey games
And discussing them over MSN and the phone.

I think about how you made me grow up
To realize my faults
And the faults of others.
You made me grow up
In order to learn
About what life really means
And how to go on.

Now that Ive been taught that and more
I feel alright and continue walking
Remember you and hearing you voice
Telling my to press on, be myself,
And never give up.
