Black Hole
Hayley Burdett

The sky fades
Slowly,
Turns to the absence of
Colors.
My heart shatters
As the moon lights up,
Illuminating the
Neighborhood.
Star gazing with you
Was never
This painful.
Before you left,
You refused to make
It easy on me.
You couldn't just
Inject novicane
Into me, numb
My aching mind.
You abandoned me
And left me with
This black hole
To consume my insides.

"This one is painful and sad. Great imagery again- nothing is ever as easy as we think it will be is it?" -- Kavya.
