A Gust Of Wind(For Caillin)
Tyla B D D Kenzie
With blood and tears and purple skin,
you entered my life like a gust of wind.
Bottles and nappies and sleepless nights,
you played the games,I won the fights.
Sitting and crawling,walking and talking,
I cleaned up the mess,while you did the exploring.
"Humphrey B Bear" and "Thomas,"Hi Five" and the
"Wiggles",
I produced all the moves,while you looked on
in giggles.
Lollies and chocolates,chips and cakes,
I brought YOU the water,you drank my shake.
Pants and shorts,skirts and dresses,
you choose the ribbon,I comb the tresses.
Teddy Bears and toys,blocks and books,
your displays of concentration,inquisitive looks.
Paintings and playtime,sports and school,
you teach the lessons,I play the fool.
Dogs and cats,now it's horses and fish
you build the dreams,I grant the wish.
Is it one year or two? maybe three? no,your four!,
A big wide world to see, a journey at your door.
Will you be a doctor, a lawyer, a vet?,
will you bring home wounded animals and keep them
as your pets.
Maybe you'll be a teacher, a philosopher, a poet?,
perhaps you'll be a farm hand, reap the rewards
then sow it.
But!Whatever your chosen path in life its a
pleasure to be enjoyed,
I have the biggest dreams for you and my faith
cannot be destroyed.
So open the door and emerse yourself in the
destiny that you provide,
and I'll be there like a gust of wind
standing by your side...
