They Passed Away
Cedric McClester

Her grandparents passed away,
And she wanted to know why,
The people she loved.
Eventually died?
And others were born,
To take their place,
In this thing that's called,
The human race
Her mother searched deep,
For the words to explain,
The mystery of life,
Its joys and its pain
Before she arrived
At a small explanation,
Geared to bring comfort
To her childs observation,
What you have asked
Has been decreed,
By a Higher Power
That knows every need,
Hes aware of the tears
That we have shed,
Over the living,
As well as the dead
And He would not wrong us,
No not in the least,
So we have to believe
That theyre resting in peace,
And that well join them
On one fine day,
When it becomes our turn
To pass away,
And if we believe
That well rise again,
Our lives may be over,
But they will not end
