That Word (Uncut) Jina Kaye
George Carlin aint got shit on this,
God Bless his Soul
But those seven words that cant be said on tv
Could never compare to this one:
NIGGER
Yeah, I said it
NIGGER
I can spell it too!
N-I-G-G-E-R
The crux of this word
NIGGER
Anybody can call me one and I cant do shit about it.
I hear these people around me saying it: black, brown, yellow, pink and white.
How dare you call me that word?
I dont care if you are black.
Thats like women calling each other bitches:
Its catty, its stupidand it could get you killed.
Dont you ever call me that word.
Really, you think its absurd to get offended because you think Im a coon, Im ignant, Im hood, ghetto, and up to no good?! No, sir, I am no nigger. No, sir, I am no slave. No, sire, I am not your whore. No, sir, its NOT okay to say that word.
Freedom on expression can kiss my ass. Go ahead and use that excuse. Justify it so you can sell those records. But dont say shit when others emulate. After all, its their freedom of expression.
Oh, yes, lets not forget Boricua who claim to have faced the same painbut I dont remember Puerto Rico going through 300 plus years of slavery and fighting 50 plus years of separate, yet equal. Ive never seen Boricua hanging from a noose, with his balls cut off and stuffed in his mouth just because he smiled at some white lady.
And dont push me about Peruvians. I almost smacked this chick for calling me that word. She asked, whats your problemIm black too! Half, I answered, and not even American. Its not you facing the shame of being a product of a white mans whore. Its not you carrying the burden of being female and black, being tugged on both sides, while being accepted by neither. Its not you who has to fight every fucking stereotype in your life. So no, bitch, dont call me that word or Ill slap the black right out of your life.
Nigger, nigga, N-word, whateva!
I dont like it, never liked it, and Im not having it. I dont care who you are, youll never convince me to like that word. Aint no difference between nigger and nigga, but which North or South you coming from. Yall East Coasters can kiss my ass, too. Im Midwestern and seen how niggas get killed. Oh yeah, hes your friend, your boy, your homey, your niggabut once he fucks your girl or takes your shit, hes your enemy, your nemesis, your rival, but still a nigga. So dont give me that sorry excuse that hes your boy and smack.
Dont call me that
Or youll get smacked.
You dont know me well enough.
I know this sounds violent and I dont mean to be.
This is how I feel when you say
That word.

"Well said!" -- colleen, lucerne, in, usa.
"I never really understood why if ya'll don't like, then why ya gotta shout it out at each other!!! " -- mat.
"To respond to Mat: Some people see it as a way of reclaiming the meaning of the word, turning it around to mean something else. That is why I wrote the last paragraph. I am originally from Indiana and I know my people never go around saying that word to each other. Hearing "nigga" everywhere in NYC (from every walk of life) kind of made me realize where I was living and how could people not realize that we, as Black people, did not come up with that word for ourselves." -- Jina, New York, NY.
