A Stroll Through The Jungle
Being of African desent,it was always one of my dreams pay a visit to Africa, the land of my ancestors. So getting a couple of weeks off from my job of five years,I pursued my dream. So I decided to go to Libia,to a little village called Mitsu. A very primitive village,I bet no advances here in the last hundred years.
They live in grass huts,no electricity,or running water. And with the heat it amazes me how they survive without air conditioning,
Come to find out one of the villagers was a cousin of mine and invited me to stay in his hut, Fun! Fun!I was wanting to touch on my ancestors.
There is a river near the village and the moisture and the heat make is so humid. The perfect grounds for stormy weather, But it is nice to be near the river to swim if you dare. Crocodiles! This is Africa you know.
The village is so old I can relly trace my ancestors here. The surroundings, the jungle, the village so beautiful.
One day totally bored out of my mind I decided to go for a walk. Not having many choices,I guess I would take a stroll through the jungle. I decided to tell my cousin of my plans just in case.Better safe than sorry.
So off to my little adventure. Wonder if I wll see Dr. Livingston?See I always try to be comical even in the face of disappointment. If you catch my drift.
I decided to bring my cousin's macheti with me,to cut through vines and foliage. There was a path to the river which I was glad to see.I also wanted to take my cousin's Bowie knife,by the river was a small utility shack and that was where I had to go get the knife.
Everything along the path is so beautiful, the jungle flowers in bloom, monkeys playing and jumping tree to tree.
It is so hot when I get to the river I think I will take a dip to cool off.In the midst of the horizon I see the river. All of a sudden I hear this tremendous clap of thunder. All of a sudden it starts to rain. Not having an umbrella, I decided to take refuge i the utility shack beside the river.
With it starting to rain very hard I see the utility shack within my view.I sure am glad of this because the rain is so hard it stings my skin as it hits.Refuge in the utility shack will be nice.
As I approach the utility shack in the stinging rain, out of the corner of my eye I see a lion. Not wanting to disturb hin I move very slow.
As I try to creep along, I snap a twig catching the lion's attention.I know I'm in trouble now because he spots me.
He the preceeds to chase me. I move really fast and I'm within reach of the utility shack. I run to it, bolting the door behind me, silently praying it will withstand the impact it is about to endure.
I hear pawing at the door, then a thud. Then I heat the faint patter of feet, indicating to me he left. Now that I of rid of him all I have to cotend with is the brewing stom outside.I pray the hut will with stand the impact of the storm. The door made of bamboo and rope, starts violently shaking. All of a sudden I hear a pawing at the door as if it were saying 'Let me in'. Now as I start seeing the door rattle. I try to get upthe courage to go to the door.
As I inch toward the door my heart starts violently racing. I break out into a cold sweat. The door sounds as if it is rumbling. My worst fear is of the lion.I have no intention of being his dinner. My heart really beating now, I check the door. The door is holding so I crack the door just a little and see the lion is gone. He probably didn't like the rain and went into the jungle to find some sort of shelter. The wind was so feirce it was making the door rumble. As I realize the storm is dying down, I still have to make my wayback to the village.
I decide I;m going to chance trying to get back. So, deciding this I leave the utility shack, looking to the left then to the right to make sure the lion was gone. Everythig smells so fresh and clean from the rain.
I decide to go ahead and embark for the village. I'm about half way there and I notice the path divides.Funny I didn't notice this before. I guess I got swept up in the beauty of the jungle.Boy, now I am confused.Because I don't know which way to go.
I decided to take the path to the left. As I keep walking I'm beginning to think I am lost.As I keep walking nothing looks familiar. Just my luck, but to my dismay I see the village ahead of me.
After I reach the village, I find my cousin and tell him of all my ordeals I encoutered. He justs laughs and says'The jungle is a fun place huh?'
After all this adventure I am ready to return to my hum-drum job.
