The Way Life Is...
Vanessa Moya

In packing her things, Mariana had hoped that no one
in the house would wake up before she left. The house was
dark, so she quietly made her way to the front door. She
was actually leaving her home and family behind.
She needed to start her own life and get a job to support
herself. That, and she was pregnant with her ex boy-
friends baby. It had been four months since they broke
up. Thay hadn't talked about what had happened and why, they
just went their separate ways. Of course it wasn't his choice,
she wanted him gone. He took the engagment ring and left.
They had been together for 5 years and it all went down the drain.
Yet all that happened and he still loved her and wanted
her back. Though she resisted him, she didn't love him anymore.
She cried for him and had hoped that he would have turned
around and told her the truth. The one had to tell her
was his very own cousin Tia. Shawn knew it wasn't her fault
for saying anything, that she was just protecting her friend.
She keeps in touch with him all the time. Shawn always
asks how Mariana is doing. Tia lives with her husband
Yandel. They got married last year and they are very happy.
Mariana looked back at the easy life she had, and didn't regret
it at all. The only thing on her mind was the fact that she
was 18 years old and pregnant. Her parents would kill, but
she loved them anyway. She knew that they loved her too, but she
was scared about the outcome of the whole thing. She
really didn't what to expect, but it was the path and
experience she was willing to take. TO BE CONTINUED...
