ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
Nathaniel B. Hargreaves a 16 year old guy from Louisiana. Outside of writing music, he also writes political and opinion columns and essays about modern society. [July 2002]
Help me, Im pinned to the ground
My legs are over my head
But I will keep on living
Just like I was meant to be
Downtown, everythings gone wrong
And I still stand on the edge
Of my self-righteous faade
Oh why are you fighting this?
Living still in the bright new past
What they cant deny
Youll see through their lies and
Ill hold mine with the rights of men
That they cant deny
And Ill keep on living
Hey man, dont give up quite yet
Learn to see right through their lies
And keep your promise to earth
My fatalist dreams undone
Dont care what they do or say
Hell I dont quite even know
If their fantasies suffice
To keep a promise to care
In my blissful apathy
Dont give a damn what they think
And Ill live life to its best
While they remain in the mold
I wont regret this one bit
Were all going the same way
Right down to burn in their hell
The hell that is in your mind
Hey now, am I all that wrong?
I just cant help but realize
That were flying the wrong way
And were getting nowhere fast
But I have kept my promise
To live what I call a life
And not conform to their realm
Oh why are you fighting this?

"Well I have to agree with one thing the sender above says, You are an excelent writer. I saw a documentary last night about Bernie Taupin he started writing poetry when he was in school and answered an advert in New Music Express to put his words to music, within a very short time he was within a very short time one of the greatest lyricists ever. Your words are raw like his early stuff and your writing reminded me of him, That's one hell of a compliment. Do you write the music too? 7/10" -- Sooz, Dalton, England, Cumbria.
