Chances
DESCRIPTION
I wrote this on the first real day of spring. My partner and I are moving in a couple of months to Phoenix. He had applied all over the country so we were initially hoping for Puerto Rico or we would even have settled for Sarasota, FL. We were praying everynight for one of those choices. Then we found out he got the job in Phoenix..it turns out it was a blessing. We have friends down there and two of our closest friends are moving there in a couple of months as well!

Chances
Jeff Burleson

Chances - do we take them with out any regrets or do we dwell on them before any actions are made? If we take them with out thinking is that a good thing? I always try to think to myself if I was dead I wouldnt have any choices to make, and that would be a horrible thing! When we take chances and think them over, is it our mind trying to talk us out of the things you shouldnt be doing in the first place? Is everyone clairvoyant and just dont know it nor act on it? The phrase The 3rd times a charm always makes me think....who made that up? Do we really get three chances for what we really want? Or is it three chances that keep messing up and in the end we realize down the road that we should have just figured out that it wasnt a good thing the 1st time. If everyone thought to themselves that everything happens for a reason where would we be? People keep trying over and over just to fulfill their dreams, but in the end its usually something totally different they strive for in the beginning but end up going with something totally different in the end. Back to being dead, I always try to remind myself of friends and family I have lost that would come back to life just for a minute to go the grocery store with their family or loved ones just one last time. Its things like that we take for granted. Naturally I am a Dare Devil at heart but it also entices me to be even more so to think that if I was dead I wouldnt have even had this opportunity and so why the hell not! With out being a dare devil we wouldnt have memories to laugh at! Now granted taking a chance isnt always a good thing, anyone that has ever bungee jumped and died would tell you that! But who are you really if you dont take a chance? Its always easier to have people perceive you as something then to really be that person. If we all tried to be who we really want to be, would there be no jobs available to even apply for? Cause everyone would be applying for high professional jobs right? Would there be no McDonalds? Then again everyone I have ever met says that they need to lose weight or eat healthier so in that case the answer would be NO there wouldnt be any McDonalds, unless they just served salads and water all the time. So maybe everything does happen for a reason and its only those people that have controlling issues say that thats not true. If you really sit down and think to yourself and retrace your steps on how you got to where you are at today, would that change your mind on that philosophy?
