I stood in the middle of the street looking for a car to run over my foot. I wanted to see just how the pain would feel directly after impact.

I saw the car from afar. It was a blue Toyota Camry; probably a couple of years old but it met the standards needed to execute my experiment. The driver was a little lady of no more than ninety years. As she sped past me, she screamed at me to leave the street before I got hurt.

She hadn’t known of my plan but had she stopped to read the sign I had printed, she would have known what it was that I was doing.

I waited. The wait was worst than the pain I had imagined I would be in after the car ran over my foot. I tried to be patient but that seemed to be impossible. When I want something done, I want it done right.

After several failed attempts to get a driver to run over my foot, I decided to go home. It was getting late and without my experiment completed, I felt like a loser. I went home and told my friend Alex that I had failed once again at something I really wanted to do.

Alex looked over at me after pulling his head up from the bong long enough to take a breath of fresh air and patted me on the back. With one marijuana filled breath, he asked me what it was that I wanted to do. When I told him, he looked at me and laughed.

“That’s stupid,” he said, “but nonetheless rad!” I was happy that he approved but still felt like I hadn’t accomplished a damn thing. So, with failure on my back and depression in my head, I took a few hits of Alex’s bong. I was flying shortly after.

My body was floating in the air as if I was doing a stronger drug than weed. Alex and I began to make out like a couple of homos in the middle of the pride parade in Greenwich Village. Before I knew it, we were naked running throughout the campus of Florida State University.

We ran for several minutes scaring the living hell out of freshman on their first dates and uptight seniors preparing for graduation. The dean of boys yelled at us through the window of his office that he was going to call campus security. We thought nothing of it.

Before we knew it, there were up to five guards chasing us across the grass with their flashlights. They tried to keep up with us but we were just too fast for them. I started to grow tired and began to slow. Alex was faster than I and remained several feet away from me the entire time.

I began to see red and blue lights in the corner of my left eye. Before I could turn for the full view, the cars were in front of us stopping us from continuing. The guards then looked me in the eyes and asked if I needed a doctor. When I said no explaining that it was only a little weed, the guard responded with, “No, I mean I just ran over your foot.”

Finally I had accomplished something and was too stoned to feel it. What a drag.

"The subject matter wasn't cheerful. I like fun interesting things, but it did tie in nicely at the end. The foot getting runned over and him not even feel it. Wow! You show lots of potential for some good work." -- Nancy Rider, New Smyrna Beach, Fl, USA.
"It's interesting but I felt it was a bit rushed. You could maybe explain a bit why you want to get your foot run over, meaning what built up to you wanting to experience that. Has potential, a good read. " -- kavya.
"Thanks for the review Kavya. The story was not rushed but why the boy wanted to get his foot run over is a mystery. Just another one of the dumb things that stoned college kids do. I've actually seen college boys do stupid things like that." -- Skyler.
"I thought the rushing of it suited the story perfectly... felt very fast-paced and to the point, the way a stoned, lazy college student what have wanted it to be i presume. Well done." -- ryan severud.
"Thanks once again, Ryan. I wrote this based, vaguely on a guy I know." -- Skyler.
"another great piece, Skylar. Gloomy and bleak but good! I liked the ending the most!" -- e. rocco caldwell.
