Death Has Come Knocking At My Door.
Bethany J Hargrove

"Death has come knocking at my door. Oh, what to do," cried Jacob Booze.
"I'm still yet, only 102."

"I've been all over the place. From Paris to Peru.
I've walked, ran, climbed, sailed and flown across air, land and see too.
But I don't want to go yet."

Knock, knock, knock Jacob Booze hears.
"Death has come knocking at my door. Oh, what to do," cried Jacob Booze.
"I want to see my great grandchild born though I already have 32."

The knocking just wouldn't go away. Death wasn't going to go.
After an hour or so Jacob Booze gave up and said,
"Might as well go."

He straightens out his shoulders and puts on his Sunday best.
He took a deep breath and open up the door.

There he was scythe, black robe and bones.
He bowed his head low and said,
"Hello. Is this the home of William Dor?"

"William Dor," exclaimed Jacob Booze. "Who is he?"
Death pulls out a list and grinds his teeth.
"Sorry," he says. "Wrong street."

And as Jacob Booze sighs his relief. Death says,
"Oh, don't worry. You're next week."
