Desk Lunch Part 4
D G Williford

Part 4

She looked at her Palm Pilot; it had never worked right.
She had lost the stylo four months ago.
She wanted to be in the in crowd that
always got a beep in a meeting,

She looked around at the people sitting there. What were they doing here?
They had no business trying to make the budget numbers. They ate
hot dogs with chili every Thursday night and went to prayer meeting every Wednesday night.

I dont trust anyone that eats hot dogs and praises the Lord at the same time.

She was fed up She walked through her maze of cubicles and surveyed her surroundings.

Yep, the same old shit, just a different day. I wonder if they have
any clue what they are about to face.

She rolled her mouse pad into a four by four and it didnt stay that way
but that was okay, because it did not matter. The mouse pad was the pawn
and the day was the king.

Im so sick of this bullshit, Im so sick of this kiss ass foreplay.
I want to work somewhere, where the bullshit doesnt exist; where life is good and
Trey and his big fat ass doesnt come and hit on me, where Peaches with all her
worldly artificial things can just go to hell.

She got up and walked to the exit sign. It was a way out. She would never forget that exit sign
She looked at her boss through the glass fish bowl; he was a prick and a loser and she loved every minute of it.

She wanted to do what she had planned at that minute, but she had to wait.

She must be patient.

She must be kind.

She was kind as she pulled out her 9mm and shot her boss square in the head.
