Distance
J L Watts

The rain cascaded down the window
Yet they heard nothing.
The dog barked relentlessly, forgotten in the backdrop of their lives
Like a game of tennis they volleyed back and forth, barely aware of each other,
Through the rain they battled - under a sky that wept.
