Laborer
E Rocco Caldwell

Sweat
Turn your places wet
Anguish
I never wish
Upon my worst enemy
They neither care nor ponder
Sitting in their gaudy tower
Staring down the steep curvature
Of their noses
At the places
Where your life is spilled
Priced
Sold
Marketed
To the higher bidder

You stand among broken souls
Dust on the factory floor
Soil
To plant
Harvest
Turmoil
And a global movement

Sun and night seventy fold
The movement rose
The cruelty turned cold
Waxed
In the corners
And closets
Waiting to leap and tear
Asunder

Ponder
In the eyes of the storm
Laborer
Work is labor no matter its code
And you
Are nothing more
Then flesh and bone

"Poignant reminder of the life of the labourer...I especially liked the "Priced Sold Marketed To the higher bidder", as I feel this has great resonance with how workers are seen and treated in this age, the past age, and the probably the future age. We are all nothing than flesh and bone indeed ! Thanks Rocco ! " -- Harvey Kennett, Chelmsford, Essex, UK.
"Thank you, Harvey. It seems that people outside my country America have a solid grasp on the struggles of worker and those other folks...the rich! Thank you" -- e. rocco caldwell.
"Ah! Rocco, you sure hate the rich and certainly you despise capitalism. I'm sure you would like to see communism, or at least socialism prevail in this country, as it has in Europe. Wonderful Europe, why don't you move there, Rocco? I don't know how you make a living. I know it's not from writing. Are you on welfare? " -- Richard.
