Labour Pains
Colin Baker

Ere on this bed my limbs I lay,
For compensation now I pray,
With moving lips, (no bended knees),
So silently by slow degrees,
A list I labour to compose,
A list to quantify all those
Essential limbs now split from me -
Lord God, what will their values be?

Royal Marine Mark Ormrod, 24, was blown up on
patrol in Helmand province, Afghanistan while playing
his part in New Labour's war on terror. For losing both
legs and one arm, the British government initially offered
Mr. Ormrod, a little over £200,000 in compensation.

"A fair day's pay for a fair day's work, assuming he volunteered to become a Royal Marine. How much might he have received if he were struck down dead by a civilian hit-skip motorist? Happens every day over here. " -- Richard.
"The moral wrong in all this in my view, is the fact that humans are used as means to an end, namely money wealth in the case of the Middle East, in the form of oil reserves......" -- Colin.
