Little Words
Tamsin Butler

Is she slow?
This made me determined to be the best I could.
If they had no faith in me, were they right?
Prove to them that I could do the things I should.
I would not give in without a fight.

She made it.
I showed everyone that I could make it work
I passed all of my courses well
But disappointment in the back ground lurked.
And at the next hurdle I fell

Is she lesbian?
Whispers behind me, never had a boyfriend
I did, I just hid it from the world
No-one elses business, drove me round the bend
He wasnt that special just someone to hold.

I love you!
When he said it to me it made me cry
I wished I could have said it back
How was I to know it was a lie?
It was an emotion that I lacked.

No real feelings.
He said he loved me but I felt nothing for him.
I was in love with another but I didnt realise
Have always been in love with him
I felt like I was cheating on both guys

I am dying!
Think my boyfriend found out somehow
Told me he was dying, just to get away
I believed him, feel so stupid now
He strayed then found a new mug to play

I am leaving
After such a heart ache nothing left to lose
My boyfriend left, saying that I cheated
Now I was free, my new love I could persue
He chose someone else over me and I was left deflated

I dont care.
I used to think the important thing was honesty
Now I know the truth about things in life
Funny how three words have changed me.
Although they changed throughout my life.
