TITLE (EDIT)
My Wonderland
DESCRIPTION
It is about a girl who leaves her father, because her parents are divorced. It talks about all the different feelings she is experiencing at the moment of the departure. I identify a lot with the character since my parents are also divorced and I live with my mother and my father lives in another country.

My Wonderland

My back touched the airplane seat. It was like they make the airplane seats so uncomfortable on purpose, my back was aching already. I looked out of the window and saw a far away door with someone I loved behind it, that person being my father.

I remembered how only less than 24 hours ago I was cuddling with my dad watching a really bad movie. But that really didnt matter because all I cared about was the hugging. My dad was just a giant teddy bear for me, someone I just couldnt stay away from. He usually just acts like a big kid, and thats what I love about him. He is not your typical boring adult.

He lives in the States, so I dont get to see him that often. I got to see him a whole bunch in Christmas vacation. It was the best. Both of us are total movie buffs so the first thing we did the day we arrived was go to Blockbuster. Then we stopped by the pizza place and bought the one and only Crunchy Thin Crust pizza. I remember that I was thinking that this was just the beginning of the great time I was going to have. This was some sort of paradise, it was my wonderland.

We went to New York and to see some of my uncles and aunts. We ate too much McDonalds and pizza. And we saw endless bad movies, but thats the fun of renting videos. But most of all we cuddled, we always cuddled. We could just be there hugging each other forever and we could never get enough of it. But the only bad part was that time caught up on me and told me it was time to go.

My plane was delayed which was good, because it left me a few more hours with my dad. We played thumb war, read magazines and talked a lot. And the inevitable finally came, my plane was boarding. My dad gave me one last hug, which at that moment seemed forever. And as I started walking into the plane, I saw my dads sad face. I knew we were both thinking exactly the same thing, we will not see each other in a long time. There wasnt going to be any more hugs or cuddles, just a cold phone call.

It seemed like time froze for one second just so that I could see my dad one last time before I left. So as the plane took off, I sat there with a tear rolling down my cheek and thinking, that I had to go back and that I had to say goodbye to my wonderland.
