DESCRIPTION
Being a Christian is hard and it's easy to forget what we are living for. Sometimes we forget that we are sinners too, and sometimes we forget that even though we are sinners, God will forgive us if we let him.

Once Blinded
Kathrine Knickrehm

I am blinded by everything I see.
I am deaf to anything I'll never be.

I can't taste the tears that fall.
I have yet to touch the air with my call.

I feel the pain that never loses.
I dry the cuts and ice the bruises.

I sit, and I wondered of all things that were evil and good.
I ponder the sin that made my heart splinter like wood.

I forgot the promise that you forever made.
I never remembered the hate I always gave.

I hid all that I betrayed.
I flaunted the fact that I prayed.

I criticized the way people constructed there life.
I allowed my words to stab like a knife.

I respect the time I'm limited too.
I have found the flaws in the way I once grew.

I can't let my pride swallow my love.
I can't let my religion make me feel too above.

I need to stay humble and true.
I must keep this commitment new.

I am annoyed by the thorns that are slicing my side.
I now realize they aren't what's killing my pride.

I gave up what's not really a true loss.
I let Jesus save my heart as he died on a cross.

"Your poem is really great! It shows true spiritual growth! :) You should definately keep writing! :) As for what you asked me about mine, my poem is just about someone who realizes that suffering the only way to eternal happiness. Because like Jesus suffereed we too must suffer the same way as him." -- Ashley Burdett.
