Poem To Joanie
Brotherman

I walk with my eyes out of my socket
replaced by photographic memories
of the days we spent together.
I look and see them go away.

Every where I look I see your specter,
in a white dress you used to wear
on hot summer days.
I run to it only to see it go away.

I see you in every big hipped beautiful
Longhaired brunette with an attiude
And a sanguine soul.
I look to see you go away

I turn in bed and see your body
Statuesque, beautiful in the morning
Whenever we would make love
I hold you only to see you go away.

I remember my mind
Once austere, in control
Sane and of this world
I look and see its gone away
