Sad Poem
Sunny

kid capri left his house on fire in the market next to the downs where fine grass grew out of wet earth caressed by the clouds developing low and omnious over the big waves of the angry ocean. the gods of the deep rumbling, i drove my car around. my little austin ferraro, all 2.0 litre cylinders of it. nearly killed a couple of pedestrians. finally decided to park the car and leg it. snorted a quick one, walked around full of infinite energy. picked an orange. an orange orange, looked at the cosmos too long, started getting weird stares, smiled at some of the old ladies, decided to go somewhere more secluded, started walking down to the beach, the surf was
lashing the sand and rocks, in the distance the moan of a foghorn started, rolled over me, my soul tingled, snorted another line, the white flecks flying in the air, swirling down to the waves. i didn't exist did i, i felt the air going through me. i decided to fall back to the hard earth, landed hard, the wind flew out of me, the pain the pain was nothing. i walked back
to the market, looking for a bar, for solace. went into a creaky old building. it smelt like a barn, but there were men sitting all around. they looked up, i looked around. weathered old faces, pipes, smoke. i walked to the bar, ordered a whisky, straight. drank it. another, gulped it. a beer, take the load off. i looked down into the foam. the bartender quoted the price. i gave him ten pounds, what had he given me? i felt a little better. sipped the beer in peace somewhat. finished moved out, got in the car and
drove away.
