Shield The Human Heart
Sara Roggy

You've watched me fall
you've seen me bleed
and yet you laugh,
not caring for me.

I do not care
what you feel
as long as what is,
is truly real.

If you want to feel
what I have felt;
for so many years
I've watched my life melt
and fade away.

If you want to feel that
let me know.
I can take you there
and that you know.

I'll take you away
to a place you don't want to see;
that place is what's really inside of me

Then you can see
what lies can do
and how they shield
the human heart.
