The Cave
As the mountain engulfs my soul and fills me with awe
Moonlight laminates my way to the cave without a flaw
My lungs pant and strain from the climb as my heart pounds
Looking up at the entrance and there is not a single sound
I was surrounded by bushes, they were too beautiful to hide
Warm air from deep below calls on me to come inside
Mouth of the cave is narrow and quite the tight fit
I slide deeper and deeper into the unknown pit
Once inside my spirit was overcome with sensations
Tingles covered my body followed by the vibrations
Excitement overwhelmed me as I cleared her gate
I stumbled forward into her world to await my fate
I steadied myself with a gloved hand against her wall
Smooth and moist each inch helped build her hall
Giant flowstone glistened in scattered light from above
Cave pearls in the still pools destined for my love
Her staggering beauty was almost a sin to view
An adorable stalactite hung just inside as very few
I looked up in admiration and awe of nature�s wonder
It was so alive with moisture that it made me ponder
How long had that formation been growing to be so alive?
And even more why did it take the shape of a bee hive?
All around I found formations that took my breath away
I felt so at home that I wished that I could sit stay
Beyond the beauty what I liked most was the love
It grew in every crease and wall even into my glove
With each breath it filled my being with a glow
Stirring my emotions like a river to ebb and flow
My trip was short and soon I was sliding back out
Squeezing through the opening, I thrashed about
It felt like the opening held me and kissed me goodbye
I remembered what we shared and left with a sigh
