The Dawning Of A Seattle Morning (To Doc Bryon)
E Rocco Caldwell

Dawn breaks nature's panes
Showering bits of itself
Like glass
Onto leaves
And lakes
Frozen
For a moment
If you turn your face
You'll miss
As it leaks
On earth's grace
Into every corner
Into every place
It whispers across
The darken sky
Voicing red and violet
In an infant's cry
At birth

But it's actually death
The night's doom
Its essence die
In light's burning womb
There it remains
Until it's renewed
Ebony epiphany
Rising with the moon
It is here I stand
Without
Rhetoric or playing band
Admiring the moment
The last of many moments
As I release your hand.
