The Elephant In The Room

The events that are taking place as I write this started a few hours back. At around 12:55 and don't think the sum of those numbers was lost on me. I remember coming suddenly awake and blearily looking around. The first thing I noticed was the lack of moonlight streaming in through the window. I remember finding that kind of odd, and then snapping fully awake when my eyes somewhat adjusted to the dark and I realized there no longer was a window. Where my window had been, when I went to bed hours earlier, was now nothing but a blank stretch of wall. Trying to rationalize what may have happened, and trying to stamp down on the panic that threatened to consume me, I got up to go to my bedroom door and head into the hallway. Due to my lack of sight I began running my hands over the wall in search of the door handle. I began to get panicked and frantically run my hands over and over the wall. I did this for the better half of an hour until I finally gave in to the fact there no longer was a door there.
The door, I assumed had gone to whatever place my window had. Now I was becoming really panicked, however I calmly decided to lie back down in the bed and sleep until morning. If by morning there still was no change, well I would cross that bridge when I came to it. I remember slowly sinking onto the bed and feeling a quiet unease at the darkness blanketing the room. I remember lying there and growing more nervous as each second passed.
I began to hear low grunting and a weird trumpeting noise that reminded of a national geographic special I had seen on African wildlife. After hearing the noise for I few minute I decided I was dreaming, never mind that I could feel the dampness from beads of sweat popping out on my brow. The noises continued for a few more minutes and just when I was starting to fall into a light doze, a loud clomping noise began echoing around the room and the trumpeting grew closer. That was what drove me to freak out, I jumped from the bed and began pounding on the wall. I screamed and screamed until my throat was hoarse and raw. Only after my hands began to swell and large purple bruises began spreading, did I stop beating the wall. My ma was in the room across from mine, atleast she was before this nightmare began. She was the type of woman who didn't like noise when she slept, an angry, obese, chain-smoker like herself didn't like noise period. So when she failed to come in there with a winston in one hand and the belt in the other, I knew I was up shit creek without a paddle. I got my first glimpse of the thing responsible for my terror when, after being exhausted by my efforts to be heard, I plopped onto the edge of the bed. As soon as I began formulating a new plan in my mind the doors to my closet sprang open and the room was bathed in a bright pink light. I shielded my eyes from the intensity of the unexpected brightness, and as my eyes adjusted, cold horror ran through my body at what I saw, it was a pink elephant. I must pause this part of the tale to explain something, though you may wonder what could be scary about a pink elephant, know this. I call it a elephant because I had to call it something and that is what my mind provided. It was huge, atleast 240 pounds, a large trunk hung down over it's mouth, which was filled with rows and rows of razor looking teeth. It stood there on its hind legs, glaring at me, almost as if daring me to make a move. I was frozen with terror, paralyzed with it and as I began readying myself for the inevitable pain and death that awaited me, the elephant suddenly dissapeared and the closet doors slammed shut. Since the first appearance of the specter in my room, it has been appearing more frequently and staying visible longer. It is hungry, it's not from earth or any other planet, it comes from a dimension where things far worse than it exists, it is hungry and it is gathering strength for the killing strike on me. I do not know how I know these things, nor do I know how I know that in the morning when they find my body it will look as if a natural death occured. Whoever is reading this, know this, I am not crazy. Every word written here is true and has happened and is happening. I must go the room is covered in that unnatural pinkish glow and I feel this time the thing in which burst from my closet isn't leaving until it has fed. This will be the pink elephant in the room everyone talks about.
