The Largeness Of Sound

David Templeton sat at his desk. He was a jittery person; he lacked a belief in himself. He looked at the phone for the fifth time and decided to do it. He picked up the receiver.
Nervously, he fumbled through his address book until he found the number that he wanted. With a shaking hand he pressed the buttons on the keypad, each time dreading the fact that it brought him closer to dialling. Once eight digits had been entered, his heart started racing and he had to fight the urge to put the phone down.
Hello, said a voice on the other end.
Hi, said David with a stutter, and swallowed to moisten his throat, Is Sandi there please?
Sorry, Sandis out at the moment. Do you want me to take a message?
Um, yeah. Can you tell her Hang on, David cleared his throat and looked at himself in the mirror on the wall. He changed his facial expression and set himself to do it, Shut the fuck up bitch, stop crying. You know you belong to me. Ive been watching you. I like those undies you wear to bed. They get me all hot. Im going to break in and steal them. Yeah. Theyll help me get hard. Ooh. I can hear you breathing at me. I like that, bitch. Soon Ill come and penetrate you. You can feel my hot dick now. You fucking want it bitch. Ill rip of those little undies. Ill lick them. You fucking better be ready bitchOkay?
Uh huh, said the voice on the other end, And who shall I say is calling?
Id prefer not to leave my name.
Okay, Ill just put down Anonymous Obscene Caller then, shall I?
Yeah, thanks
David took a breath and put down the receiver. His mummy would be proud of him.
There was the sound of keys in the door and David rushed to greet his mummy.
Mammy, mammy! he cried, rushing up to hug her, Youll never guess what!
What, Davey?
I called up on the phone all by myself.
Im impressed Davey! Who did you ring?
I rang you up, Mammy, but you werent there. I left a message though.
Okay, Davey. Now come over here. Its time for you to penetrate me.
Okay, Mammy

"I don't get the title connection. The theme, though dark, is interesting, but you could have done a better job with the character descriptions. For example, was David a teenager, an adolescent, a retarded adult. The mother - middle-aged, sexy, matronly, attractive, ugly? I think this would have given the story more resolve.
